Honda has officially named their new city EV the "e". It is safe to assume that e stands for electric. The electric car is based on the Urban Electric Vehicle concept that was showcased by Honda at last year’s Frankfurt motor show which was then shown in near-production form as the Honda e prototype at the 2019 Geneva motor show. Honda has announced that the prototype of the electric vehicle showcased at Geneva is a 95% ready production model which also makes for an assumption that much of the features and the retro design that was seen on the prototype will make its way to the final product.[gallery size="full" ids="8967,8968,8969,8970"]Technical specifications of the electric vehicle have not been revealed by Honda although sources claim that the Honda e will have an output of more than 99hp and 300Nm of torque. It will also likely have an official range of 201km, along with fast-charging capabilities which will provide 80 percent of the charge in 30 minutes.[gallery size="full" ids="8971,8972,8973,8974"]As per the design, the prototype of this electric vehicle showcased at Geneva used cameras instead of rear-view mirrors which improved the aerodynamic efficiency of this electric vehicle. The prototype also showcased flush door handles and the charging port mounted centrally in the bonnet.[gallery size="full" ids="8975,8976,8978,8977"]The inside of the electric vehicle gives a living room vibe with a wood effect finish on the dashboard and seats covered in polyester. The cabin is dominated by two 12.0-inch touchscreens built into the dashboard. The Honda e will be built in Japan and go on sale in selected European markets in late 2019.
